Abstracts
SUBMITTING YOUR ABSTRACT
Step 1 - Record your personal details to create your own ‘dashboard’.
If you have already created an ASN dashboard for a previous event, select “Returning delegates” and use your email address and password to login to your ‘dashboard’.
If you have not used the ASN online system before please select “Register as a new delegate”. You will be asked to create a profile including email, password and organisation.
Please contact ASN Events by email or Ph 61(3) 59832400 if you have any issues or need your password reset.
Step 2 – Insert your abstract
From your dashboard, select “new” abstract. You will then be taken through the submission process.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
* System requirements
INTERNET EXPLORER (ver 5.5 or newer)
NETSCAPE (ver 7.4 or newer) or
MOZILLA (ver 1.3 or newer)
The screen will tell you if it detects you are using the wrong software and you would be better to change to a computer with one of the above installed.
* Have you got your abstract open and running on your own computer? – you need to be able to cut and paste it onto the web. (Note that keypad short cuts do not work with Mozilla, you need to use the menu, edit, paste command to paste in text to your submission).
* Is your abstract text less than 300 words? – it will not allow you to paste larger submissions. The word count does NOT include your title, authoring or cited references
Step 3 - Once your submission is complete you will receive a confirmation email.
You can return to your dashboard at any time to view and edit your submission up until reviewing begins.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTER SUBMITTERS
The abstract system will ask you to submit a 50 character title in addition to your official abstract title. This shorter title will be used in the pocket timetable that is produced for the conference.
Please note that there is only one poster allowed per presenter. If you submit more than one poster abstract you will be asked which poster you would like to present and then the additional abstracts will be withdrawn.
WHEN YOU'VE FINISHED THE SUBMISSION
You will receive a confirmation email with your Abstract Submission Reference Number. You can view or edit your abstract by returning to your dashboard. (hyperlink)
If you do not receive this confirmation email, please contact ASN Events (hyperlink email or ASN contact).
YES - YOU CAN MAKE CHANGES AFTER YOU HAVE SUBMITTED!!
Changes can be made to your abstract until the scoring process begins. Just return to your Conference Dashboard and select the Edit option under Abstracts. The edit option will no longer appear once scoring has commenced.
ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION
Notification of programming decisions will come from the secretariat shortly after the expiry of deadlines and the working program will be posted to the web site. It will also appear on your profile. The notification will include specific presentation instructions but in the interim, those preparing posters should note the maximum size allowed is 100cm wide by 120cm high. Velcro will be available to fix the poster to the boards. Computer data projection is the preferred presentation method for orals.
